How to Mute, Archive, and Leave a Chat

How to mute chat notifications for a specific thread.

 

Muting a Chat

On Desktop: While in a chat thread, click on the "Bell" icon to mute a conversation. You will still be able to receive messages, but you will not receive push notifications/alerts for that thread. You can always click the Bell again to unmute.

On Mobile: While in the Message Inbox, tap and hold on the tread you wish to mute. A popup will appear, tap on "Mute Conversation." A small bell icon with a slash through it will appear next to that thread, to show that the chat has been muted. To unmute, simply tap and hold again, this time selecting "Unmute Conversation."

Archiving A Chat

On Desktop: While in a chat thread, click on the "Box" icon to Archive a chat. This will remove the selected chat from your listed threads. You will still be able to search for the archived thread, and can click the Box again to restore the conversation to your list.

On Mobile: While in the Message Inbox, tap and hold on the tread you wish to archive. A popup will appear, tap on "Archive Conversation." The chat thread will then be removed from your Inbox. You will be able to find the thread again using the search bar at the top of your screen. Tap and hold the thread again after searching to "Restore Conversation." The thread will be added back to your inbox.

How to Leave a Chat

 

On Desktop:

While in a chat thread, click on the "Gear" icon in the top right corner of the thread to "Edit Group Settings".  In the pop-up, select "Leave Group".

Important: Once you leave a group, you will no longer be able to send and receive messages in that group unless another user adds you back in.

While in a chat thread, click on the three dots in the top right corner. In the pop up that appears, tap "Leave Group" to leave the chat.
