To edit shift recommendations, navigate to the menu on the left hand side of your screen  and click on “Scheduling” then click “Planner.”

You’ll then land on the Planner page. Here, you’ll be able to see all of the team members who are scheduled to come into work on any given day. You will also see unpublished and unassigned shifts.

On the right-hand side of the page, you’ll see three icons. Click on the last icon in the list. It is the settings icon.

Once you click on the settings icon, a settings menu will pop out. 

Then click on the “Edit Settings” button under the Recommendations heading.

A Recommendations settings window will pop up. Here, you’ll be able to determine who gets recommended for a shift depending on: 

  • Team

  • Availability

  • Overtime

  • Fit

Let’s dive into each of them shall we.


Under the Team section, you can decide who is allowed to be assigned: home team only, prefer home team, then alternatives, or no preference. Once you’ve decided, click the “Save Settings” button. 


Use the radio buttons under the Availability header to determine how closely should the system sick to staff preferred availability. You can either choose to stick strictly,  loosely,or totally ignore your team members’ preferred availability. Once you’re done click the “Save Settings” button.


You can also use the window to determine overtime. You can limit weekly workloads to team members’ hourly goals or target 40 hours per week. Finally, you’ll have to determine if you want to allow overtime by checking or unchecking the box. Then click the “Save Settings” button.


Finally, you can determine the fit of shift recommendations by using the radio buttons to either select the best fit or have the system consider prior assignments. You can also decide if you would like the system to allow back-to-back shifts. When youre all set, go ahead and click on the “Save Settings” button.
